We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

My daughter received a pony as a gift (item #12245) some time ago. Today we had our carpets cleaned and discovered that they broke it, but didn't tell us. On the bottom, it says 2E / 2,273. For replacement value, I can only find 4E. I am what you can say, painted pony stupid and have no idea what it is worth. Are you able to assist with this? Prior to breaking, it was perfect! Thanks! Best, Shaun
Response From Trailmaster:
Please call Rikki Carter, our Director of Special Sales (1-877-459-5701). She can assist you by putting a letter together with an estimate of its value for insurance purposes.

Hi i was wondering if you had a painted horse that has clouds painted one it. its like a light or dark blue..and it has white clouds painted all over it i believe. i remember seeing it in a book with a bunch of painted horses in it...but i really wan to find that one in particular. you think you can help me?
Response From Trailmaster:
I think the Pony your are asking about is titled "Heavenly Pony." The artwork features clouds that have taken on horse shapes. This is a very rare Pony. We don't even have any in our Vault. You may want to check on eBay, or call and leave your contact information with Rikki Carter, Director of Specia Sales (1-877-459-5701). If another collector contacts us who would like to put their "Heavenly Pony" up for sale, we will let you know.

Will The Trail of the Paintd Ponies be producing more Jeweled Gift Boxes? I absolutely LOVE these gorgeous pewter enameled beauties.
Response From Trailmaster:
We love the Jeweled Gift Boxes too and think they add an elegant touch to The Trail of Painted Ponies merchandise line. Our reason for discontinuing them is simply this: the dramatic increase in overseas production costs. We were so discouraged by the new pricing that, until we found a more reasonable manufacturing source, we decided to hold off on producing more. The good news is that we are still offering the Jeweled Gift Boxes we have in stock at a great price on The Vault.

I'm curious. Why aren't you announcing the new herd all at one time? This is so odd and to tell you the truth kinda frustrating to have to wait a week apart to see the rest of the herd and then having to wait till the end of the month to order. I really hope this is a one time deal and that future herds will be shown all at the same time. Also, why are you now selling Magical Swan when I thought this pony was going to be a special release for Dillard's?
Response From Trailmaster:
The Fall 2011 Release is not a typical one, and we apologize to collectors who are finding it confusing. Here is what's going on: Normally we introduce the new Fall Ponies on our website on September 1, and begin taking pre-orders. But as it turns out, our manufacturer's sales reps traditionally call on their store accounts at the beginning of October, and they asked us if we would delay introducing and taking pre-orders until October 1, at the same time retailers learned about the new Ponies and could take pre-orders. We were concerned about making yet another change to our release schedule, but in the interest of fairness agreed to give it a try. Instead of posting an announcement that the release was being delayed however, we thought it would build anticipation to introduce the new Ponies a week at a time. Then, we found ourselves confronted with another situation. A year ago, Dillards Department Store selected "Magical Swan" as their 2011 exclusive Painted Pony, to be released in late spring. Over the winter, Dillards made a corporate decision to downsize and eliminate the Home Department in all their stores, which is where the Painted Ponies were displayed. "Magical Swan" arrived in the middle of this change, and because we think it is such a fantastic Pony, we delivered only a small number of these Ponies to Dillards, and decided to make this Pony part of the Fall Release. This explains why "Magical Swan" can be ordered now and is available for immediate shipping. Again, we apologize for the confusion. The silver lining in all this is that even though pre-orders for the remaining three Ponies will not begin until October 1, all of these Ponies will be shipping by mid-November, which is the same time they would have shipped had they been announced on September 1, and in time for the Christmas Holidays. And Dillards, reluctant to give up The Trail of Painted Ponies entirely, is carrying the complete Holiday line of figurines and ornaments.

I notice you are a publisher.Do you accept manuscripts of poetry for concideration of publication?
Response From Trailmaster:
Currently we only publish our own titles. Should Painted Ponies or horses be the subject of your poetry collection, we would be open to considering it. Otherwise, we are not the right publisher. But thanks for thinking of us and good luck.

I wasn't part of the facebook chat and I wanted to express my views about the Christmas Ponies. To me ONE Christmas Pony is enough. If you would do a Halloween Pony and a Christmas pony each year. That leaves two ponies .. So what I would suggest is to rotate the other two ponies to include the rest of the holidays like Thanksgiving, New Years, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, St. Patties Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and so on. Two ponies from the other holidays one year and then two different ones the next year, and so on. For instance .. one Christmas one Halloween and then one year do a Thanksgiving and maybe a New Years pony. The next year .. one Christmas, one Halloween, then do a Valentine and Mother's Day pony. The third year .. one Christmas, one Halloween and then maybe do a Mardi Gras pony along with a St. Patties Day pony. Keep changing those two ponies out and when you run out of those Holidays then start all over. You could even incorporate events like Octoberfest and other National Holidays too.I think this would be so much better then doing 4 Christmas ponies every year.
Response From Trailmaster:
What keeps a collectible fresh and relevant is when you hear from and take into consiceration the thoughts and ideas of your collectors. Thank you.

Hi! When you did the pony design competiton a couple month ago, I was thrilled to see that one of the ponies to vote for was "seahorse." :) I was wondering if this pony is going to be created into a figurine? I have been trying to create my own version of "seahorse" for years now, since I am extremly passionate about all marine animals (and horses!) Unfortunatly, I have no artistic talent at all. :( If I can't make my own version of "seahorse", I would at least love to be able to buy one. Thanks!
Response From Trailmaster:
You will be pleased to know that we loved "Seahorse" as much as you did. So much so, it is currently under development as a future figurine.

I wondering if you can assist with my inquiry on "Mary Iron Eyes" edition "Blue Medicine". As this artist passed to the other side in 2003 before the release of her 6" pony in 2004, were there any 6" edition ponies 'signed' other than her original life-size version? I have never seen one for sale so I thought I would ask you 'guys'& see. Thank you for answering my question. Regards Robyn
Response From Trailmaster:
Your question calls up a vivid memory of Mary Iron Eyes, and how proud she was of her origingal Painted Pony and all the different children's handprints that were part of the design. Unfortunately you are right, she never had a chance to autograph any of the figurines inspired by her Pony.

can these ponies be purchased in any retail store? such as macey's or dillards
Response From Trailmaster:
Please check the Store Locator feature on our website for stores in your vicinity that carry Painted Ponies. (And if there are stores near you where Painted Ponies would be a good fit but they don't currently carry Painted Ponies, let them know about us.) Beginning this fall, Dillards will be carrying just the Holiday Painted Ponies and Ornaments.
