We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

A few years ago, there were two (2) different sized boot stockings featuring each of the 2009 holiday ponies. Any plans to make more featuring other holiday ponies?
Response From Trailmaster:
We will continue to come out with different Holiday merchandise, but there won't be any boot stockings this year.

I would like to buy someone a replica of their horse with a heart-warming story that I have written on the card attached to the pony. Is this possible?
Response From Trailmaster:
I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you saying you would like to commission an artist to create a Painted Pony modeled after a real Pony for a friend, and that you have written the story that would accompany this piece? If so, I would suggest you go to the Painted Ponies Gallery and pick out an artist whose style you like and contact the artist.

I have a Painted Pony that I can not find within your site. It is item# 11254 High Desert Horse Feathers. 1E/4.960 The Artist: Kathy Morrow Can you tell me anything about this pony?
Response From Trailmaster:
This was a resin Pony that was created as an exclusive figurine for High Desert State Bank in Albuquerque. A limited number were produced, and it has been retired. More detailed information - date of retirement and how many were produced - can be found on our Collector's Checklist.

hi trailmaster, i was just wondering if you are ever going to produce painted ponies from australian artists? if you started producing ponies painted in different countries TOPP could become more widely spread through out the world.
Response From Trailmaster:
As you probably know, several years ago we created an exclusive Australian Pony that was created by an Australian artist, and we continue to receive designs from other Australian artists. If the imagery is too specific to your country, then chances are we would only produce it as a figurine if a company or organization in Australia wished to "sponsor" it. But if the design has international appeal, we would most certainly consider it. Already, a number of Painted Ponies have been designed by Canadian artists.

I tried to register for the new online Painted Ponies registry but my postcode is not being accepted. In Australia we have 4 digits in our postcode, so will we be able to join the registry or is it United States only?
Response From Trailmaster:
We are designing the Registry for our international as well as State-side collectors. Try it again. I think it will work now.

I recently purchased "Stardust" (item #12248) by Janee Hughes (#4,289) but, unfortunately, the gift shop had misplaced the box that it came in. Is there any way to get a box for "Stardust"? Thanks.
Response From Trailmaster:
With many of the newer Painted Ponies we are manufacturing an overrun of boxes to accomodate collectors who find themselves in this situation. But we didn't do this earlier, or with "Stardust." Sometimes on eBay you will find someone selling the box of a Pony that has been broken or lost.

Marianne Nelson from Novi, Michigan wrote on September 26, 2011:
I am trying to determine the value of 3 ponies. They are: 1) #12289- Night Flower, 1E/6.8.94 2) #12266- Indian Summer, 2E/4519 3) #12238- Crystal, 3E/1,287 Please let me know their value/price. Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
There best way to determine the value of these Painted Ponies at this time - and this really is a better time to collect than to try and sell - would be to go to eBay and find the same Pony with a similar edition number and see what the BUY NOW price is. Or, if you have an eBay account, you can check to see what it has sold for in the past.

Barbara Garrett from United Kingdom wrote on September 26, 2011:
Are all ponies before 2009 out of stock Regards Barbara
Response From Trailmaster:
Many are, but not all. Since this is an international inquiry, I would suggest you visit our Official Store and check on availability there. Or if there is a particular Painted Pony that interests you, you might also write info@trailofpaintedponies.com, and Rikki Carter. Director of Special Sales, will check to see if it is available through The Vault.

Jennifer Ann Hapney from Olive Hill, KY wrote on September 25, 2011:
Dear Tailmaster, I was wondering how I can retrieve the Route 66 pony? My son grabbed it and broke the front right leg. Thank You, Jennifer Ann Hapney
Response From Trailmaster:
I'm not sure what you mean by "retrieve." Do you mean repair? Or replace? It will be hard to perfectly repair this Pony, other than to glue the leg back on, because it is cast in ceramic and the artwork consists of an applied decal. As for finding another one, it is retired and rare, but there may still be one available in The Vault. Call our Toll Free number: 1-877-459-5701.

Michelle Stockdale from Australia wrote on September 22, 2011:
Now that Dillards have decided to downgrade their stocking of the TOPP to only the Christmas ponies and ornaments only are we as collectors to assume that Dillards will no longer be producing their exclusive releases. Or if they do will they just be limited to the Christmas themed ponies?
Response From Trailmaster:
Things could change, but at this time I think it's fair to assume that there won't be any more exclusive Dillards Painted Ponies.
