Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

why is a picture of John Lennon appearing on my collectors list for the pony Wooden Toy Horse!?!
Response From Trailmaster:
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The picture of John Lennon was used as a place holder for an early update on this program. It has now been changed.

How can I find out the value of a retired pony?
Response From Trailmaster:
The best way is to see what your retired Pony is worth at this time is to go on eBay and see what the same Pony, in a similar condition with a similar number, is selling for.

Will the "American Paint Horse Association Art Competition" horses be made into production pieces. I collect PAINT horses and would love to add these to my collection. If they are going to be production pieces do you have a release date for them? Thank you
Response From Trailmaster:
The winning entry in the APHA Competition - "Painted Harmony" - was just released as part of the January 2013 general release. Over this next year, two, and possibly three of the other entries will come out as figurines. The competition generated a lot of extraordinary imagery.

I purchased Winter Song last week and when trying to register it in my collection, there is no E or number on the bottom of the pony. The gold plate on the stand has 08779/20,000 on it. How do I enter it into my registry? I have the original box as well. Is it a fake? Thanks for your help.
Response From Trailmaster:
This is a legitimate Pony. There is no number on the bottom because it was part of a limited edition of 20,000. The edition number can still be entered in the registry and the E will not appear in your records when you view your registered Pony.

I noticed that some of the ponies on the retired list can not be accessed (grayed out) and others can be. Does that mean they are STILL available or only through other places? How does this effect the value of the ponies, onced they have been retired?
Response From Trailmaster:
The Ponies that don't have links in the titles are no longer available through the Official Store or Treasures from the Vault. They may, however, still be available through a local retailer. In general, yes, once a Painted Pony is retired its value increases. It's a matter of supply and demand.

So we can never order the War Pony anymore since its being put out to pasture?
Response From Trailmaster:
Our Official Website Store is out of stock, as is Treasures from the Vault. Perhaps a retailer near you will have one, or you can check on eBay. But that's right, it's the End of the Trail for "War Pony."

I was wondering if "Photo Finish" will be offered as a figurine? The jewel box is gorgeous and it would make a great figurine. There are many of us Thoroughbred fans out there that would truly value this piece.
Response From Trailmaster:
You're right, this is a beautiful design and one that we will keep in the front of our mind as we continue to come out with new figurines.

I purchased a pony called keeper of the sacred fire at my local store and this particular pony doesnt have a plaque. Ive seen some ponies in the same edition with plaques. The pony isnt missing it because there is a design where the plaque usually is. Why do some ponies of the same edition have plaques while some dont?
Response From Trailmaster:
When we first came out with "Keeper of the Sacred Fire," we were working with an earlier manufacturer and the figurines did not have title plaques. When we moved to our current manufacturer we added plaques. This is one of the Ponies that was manufactured by both companies. It sounds like your Pony was one of the early ones.

Where can I find a book that lists all the ponies? I have recently started purchasing them and am up to 30 and would like to be able to look somewhere to see them all. thanks,
Response From Trailmaster:
Our Anniversary Edition book contains images and stories of all the Painted Ponies that had been created up until 2010. It is available through our Official Website Store. We have not published a book since then. If you are looking for a list of all Painted Ponies up to the present, please look at the Collectors Checklist.
