We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

I am looking for a pony housed at a certain location - at the Tamaya Resort in Rio Rancho NM. Is there a directory of ponies by location? How do I find out what the name of that pony is and who the artist is?
Response From Trailmaster:
We do not have a directory for where Painted Ponies are displayed today. At one time there were a half-dozen Ponies on exhibition at Tamaya. If you can get a picture of the one still there, we'll provide you with the name and artist information.

What kind of paint do I want to use for the pony kit?
Response From Trailmaster:
Most of the acrylic paints you find in a Michaels, JoAnns or Hobby Lobby will work on a Painted Pony form. Some artists have even used oil paints.

Would you be interested in doing a "Trail of Painted Champions" based on famous thoroughbred race horses with the artist proceeds donated to the Thoroughbred Retirement Chairities?
Response From Trailmaster:
We can put you in touch with an artist who would do a fine job of creating a custom Painted Pony that features images of famous thoroughbred race horses, which you could sell at an event to raise money for Thoroughbred Retirement Charities. As for coming out with a Painted Pony figurine designed like that, we would have to get permission from the owners/estates of the respective horses, for copyright reasons.

We bought two of the Phoenix Ponies when they came out and have had them for a while. we just noticed that one has the 1E/5124 and the other has nothing written there at all, no E or number. We got it at the airport so we asre wondering what that means. Thanks
Response From Trailmaster:
What that means is that when your Painted Ponies were hand-numbered at our manufacturing plant, somehow one of the figurines was missed. It's called human error, and it's an anomaly. Chances are good it is a First Edition, but there is no way of telling what casting number it is. It does make it unique.

If you had a pre-e War Pony in your store right now, and since there were only 3000 of them made....how much would it be selling for? Thanks!
Response From Trailmaster:
Several years ago a pre-e War Pony sold for one thousand dollars. Whether it would bring that price today is hard to say. It's my understanding that if you have an eBay account there is a way you can check on past sales. But I don't know how far back those records go. I would start there.
