We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

Is there a 2003 holiday pony?
Response From Trailmaster:
2003 was the very first year we created Painted Ponies and we did not have a Holiday collection at that time.

What paint do I need to use if I decide to get the "Triumphant Figurine" to paint? Do I use acrylic, water color, oil, etc.... (Basically the best one that will stay on the statue) Thanks.
Response From Trailmaster:
To some extent the best paint will depend on your design, but in general acrylic and oil work best.

I have just obtained my first Pony and he is missing an ear. Do you have any recommended repair people? Thanks
Response From Trailmaster:
Sorry. We would suggest you go back to the retailer where you bought the Pony and explain what happened. In general Painted Pony retailers want happy customers and try to make things right.

Do yall sell gift cards online? My sister has over 60 Painted Ponies and I would really like to get her a gift card so she can buy another!
Response From Trailmaster:
We looked into gift cards and decided it was too complicated to add this feature to our website. But thanks for asking.

What is the best way to clean painted ponies?
Response From Trailmaster:
Use one of those air blowers that come with computers. Or, a soft cotton cloth.

I left a question last week but have not heard back. My sister in law just passed away and she had a collection of ponies (located in Phoenix, Az). I have not cataloged them yet but all are in original boxes. Is there a way to find out how I might be able to sell these besides ebay? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Response From Trailmaster:
eBay is your best bet. Alternatively, send us a list of the Ponies and their edition numbers and we will share this information with a select list of serious collectors.

Barbara Sullivan from Killeen, Texas wrote on September 26, 2018:
I just ordered the paint your own ponies. What kind of paint do you use on the figures? And after you are done painting your ponies what do you seal it with? I love my ponies that I have. thanks for you help
Response From Trailmaster:
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The Ask the Trailmaster feature wasn’t working and we didn’t realize it. In general acrylic paints are the best but if you go to a crafts store or art supply shop, they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Patrick Traylor from Los Alamitos California wrote on February 11, 2018:
My mother recently passed leaving an extensive collection of painted ponies. I am looking to sell them Is eBay the best place?
Response From Trailmaster:
Right now, selling a Pony on eBay will enable you to reach the largest potential buying audience.

I have the horse Boot Scootin’ Horsey 2E/2,456. How do i find out what it’s valued at?
Response From Trailmaster:
There is no way of determining a set value on any of the early Ponies. There are multiple factors - edition number, condition, signed by artist, demand by other collectors being a few. What eBay will tell you is what other people are trying to sell it for.
