Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

I recently came across a first edition tony curtis trail of painted pony "shiloh". From my understanding this celebrity line of ponies all featured edition numbers. I have seen others of this exact pony in the same store with numbers. This particular retired pony does not have an edition number. It appears as though they forgot to individually. Number it. Has anyone heard of this and does it what is a fair value for it?
Response From Trailmaster:
Since each Painted Pony figurine is hand-numbered, there are times when human error occurs. This is what must have happened.

Nancy from Carbondale, KS wrote on October 05, 2012:
Can you tell me the differences in Signed by Artist Signed Autographed Edition other than the Prices
Response From Trailmaster:
Sure. Although many people collect Painted Pony figurines purely for their look and the way the Ponies make them feel, there are also people who search for a way of differentiating their Painted Ponies, and adding value. There are three factors that determine this added value: the edition number, whether the Pony is retired, and if it has been hand-signed by the Artist. Among serious collectors, and for resale purposes, a signed Painted Pony that has a low-edition number and is retired has been known to sell for as much as ten times as its initial purchase price. Recognizing this, and as a way of preventing fake signatures from entering the marketplace, The Trail created an Official Autographed Edition. With each new release we send a certain number of very low edition figurines to the artist who created the original design for them to both hand-number and hand-sign, we compensate the artist fairly for their time, and we make these limited number of Officially Autographed Edition Ponies available on our Treasures from the Vault. To authenticate them, we also include a hand-numbered, hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity. The added effort and expense involved in creating an Autographed Edition, we feel, more than justifies their $75 price.

Did they make figurines for "Swiftness of an Eagle, Strength of a Bear", Anastazi Diaries" and "Colt of Many Colors?" If so, where can I buy them? Thanks, Karen Mobley
Response From Trailmaster:
No, we have not yet crafted the Painted Ponies you mention into figurines. But we keep all of them in mind, and perhaps we will someday....

Recently my ceremonial pony was damaged. I would like to know if there is a way to purchase another one. I have looked on line and in several shops and was told that he is no longer being made. If this true how much was he worth so I can be refunded for my lose by the person who broke him. He was a second edition from 2007.
Response From Trailmaster:
The best way to find the current perceived value is to check on eBay for the same Pony with a similar edition number.

I have a 1E Renewal of Life Figurine, that is number 3858. On the base it does not show a 1E but is completed signed as "32 1 3858" I know it is 1E because I am the original buyer and have the original black box. Can you tell me if this was a Pre 1E or misprint that did not print the 1E?
Response From Trailmaster:
Because the Ponies are hand-numbered, there is sometimes human error. It is difficult to respond to your question without seeing the bottom of the base for ourselves. Please send a photo to: info@paintedponies.com.

JustMe from Washington wrote on September 27, 2012:
I was wondering, is there any way to send an idea for a pony? There was an officer that was murdered here in WA pretty recently, her name is Jayme Biendl, and she loved horses and I believe she had a ton of these painted ponies around her house. I was wondering if theres a way to get one made and have it dedicated to the fallen officers, or something to that effect, any way?
Response From Trailmaster:
There are several ways to go with this. One would be to have an artist from your area create a custom Painted Pony from one of our kits (and we would gladly donate the kit), which could be auctioned to raise money for a fallen officers cause. The other way would be for a local WA organization to take this on as a project, and talk with us about creating a special figurine available exclusively through them to benefit an appropriate group. In the latter case, there would have to be minimum number of pieces ordered to make this cost-effective for all parties involved.

Who makes Painted Ponies, Westland or Enesco
Response From Trailmaster:
Westland used to be the manufacturer of Painted Ponies - from 2003 through 2009. Beginning in 2010, Enesco has been our manufacturer and distributor.

how much doesthe medicine horse cost??
Response From Trailmaster:
Not to be flip, but it depends on who you buy it from and what price they put on it. "Medicine Pony" is a rare and retired Pony that was very popular. It will surely have increased significantly in value.

`I have a Golden Girl IE 8.065 can you tell what a resale price would be?
Response From Trailmaster:
You should go on eBay and see what a comparable Golden Girl is selling for. That will give you an indication of what the resale price would be.
