We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

I have a couple of original painting by Bonny. How can I learn the dollar value of these beautiful paintings?
Response From Trailmaster:
Bonny did create a wonderful Painted Pony for us, long since retired, but we have no way of knowing what the current value of her paintings is. You should check with one of her galleries.

Cat from Oregon wrote on October 23, 2013:
I have a few retired ceramic ponies. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to find a fair price to list them for sale? Most that I find for sale appear to be resin, not ceramic. Circumstances require that I sell my ponies. I have all original boxes, Styrofoam and tags. Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
Response From Trailmaster:
My hope is that the response to this question is read by all the others who have written in with the same basic question: What is the current value of my Painted Pony? The best answer that we can give you is you should check on eBay to see what the same or similar piece is selling for. Factors that will create a price difference include edition number, condition of box, if the piece is signed by an artist, and whether there is someone who is interested in adding your Pony to their collection.

Hazel from Liverpool, England wrote on October 22, 2013:
Hiya I have heard that there is a Clarice Cliff design painted pony is this true? If so any idea where I can purchase this from. Thanks Regards Hazel
Response From Trailmaster:
Clarice may have painted a Pony from one of our kits for a fundraiser or for sale, but we have not crafted a figurine from a design by this artist.

Check the link to the Collector's Checklist.

MONA GODARD from FLORIDA wrote on October 19, 2013:
CAN YOU TELL WHETHER PONY IS A 1E, 2E OR 3E BY TPP ITEM # OR DO YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE BOX?
Response From Trailmaster:
Unless the retailer opens the box, checks the number, and posts it on the outside before he sells it, you must open the box.

Cathy Liles from Searcy, Arkansas wrote on October 17, 2013:
Do you still have the pony with the peppermints on her?
Response From Trailmaster:
That "sweet" Holiday Pony has been retired, and there are no more left even in our Vault.

Do you sale wholesale? If you do how do I become a seller?
Response From Trailmaster:
Send contact information to info@paintedponies.com, and tell us how you intend to sell Painted Ponies, i.e. out of a store, online, etc.

Carl from Belton, TX wrote on October 10, 2013:
did the Big Ben and Standing on Guard painted ponies ornaments come with hang tags
Response From Trailmaster:
No, hang tags have not accompanied the Painted Ponies for three or four years. Instead, we include Story Cards with each figurine.

Tayler Lund from Minnesota wrote on October 02, 2013:
A couple of years ago we found a horse with rodeo cowboys painted on it. It was view of their backs, they were either sitting on a fence or leaning agains it, as if they were watching the arena. We believe that one of the cowboys was Lane Frost. We think it was part of the trail of painted ponies, but could not find it again. I was just wondering if you could tell me if it was a painted pony and what its name is, or maybe where i could find this figurine?
Response From Trailmaster:
I believe the Pony you are referring to was an original maquette created by Lori Musil, which has not yet been crafted into a figurine.

Luverne Matzdorf from Grand Rapids, MN wrote on September 25, 2013:
Is there any way to repair the ears on my painted pony as I have no pieces to glue back on. I bought at a yard sale and the tips of the ears are missing. Is there a certain color or type of paint to use? Thank you,
Response From Trailmaster:
At one point we considering setting up a "Horse Hospital" for damaged Painted Ponies, but in the end it didn't make a lot of sense. I would recommend going to a local crafts store, showing them your Pony, and seeing what kind of quick-hardening clay material they might have that could be shaped and sanded, and matching paint.
