Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

Is there more than one edition of any of the Christmas ornaments?
Response From Trailmaster:
We do not number the Holiday ornaments so even if more than 10,000 were crafted, there would only be one edition.

I have a 1E/Showroom Sample of For Spacious Skies, What is it worth and why does it say Showroom sample instead of a #? is it a rare piece?
Response From Trailmaster:
With each new release of Painted Ponies, a few sample pieces are created for display in the manufacturer's showroom. These are not for sale and not supposed to enter general circulation, but sometimes that has happened. You have an example. This makes the figurine an anomaly, but as far as adding value, that would really depend on whether someone else perceived it to have special value because it is different.

Meme from Florida wrote on May 21, 2014:
On your "Paint Your Own" ponies and ornaments you state that paints are not included. Do you give directions &/or suggestions as to what paints work best?
Response From Trailmaster:
Good question. We did not include paints in the "Paint Your Own" kits because every artist seems to have a different kind of paint they prefer to work with. Some like acrylic, some oil-based. Some like primary colors, some more exotic metallic colors. Same with brushes. The preferred size of the brush will depend on the design. Our advice is to check with a local crafts store - Michaels or JoAnns - and/or an artist paint supply store and consult with someone who knows paints. The search will not only be interesting, it could lead in unanticipated directions.

What determines how many editions of any pony are made. I saw one with 15 Editions??
Response From Trailmaster:
Each edition consists of 10,000 castings. That means the Pony in its 15th edition has sold 150,000 figurines. That was a very popular Pony.

When will you bring back the magnets? I just loved them and sure makes it easier and less expensive to have a decent collection with limited space.

Bryan from Missouri wrote on May 14, 2014:
Will you ever come out with a Wizard of Oz series?
Response From Trailmaster:
That could be a fun and clever collection. The "however" is that the rights to reproduce that imagery are closely held by the movie studio that produced the film, and to obtain a license to create a Dorothy, Tin Man, Wicked Witch, etc Painted Pony would be prohibitively expensive, if it could even be negotiated.

Vicki from Huntersville, NC wrote on May 11, 2014:
I saw on e-bay an "official" Trail of the Painted Ponies jacket. How can I buy one?
Response From Trailmaster:
Several years ago we did have an arrangement with a clothing company to produce Trail of Painted Ponies jackets, but the license was not renewed. There was still some inventory left over and this is probably what you saw.
