HONORABLE MENTION
Winter Sleigh Ride by Celine Crentsil

Children, enjoying their winter break, are sad to realize their trusted sled has broken. As they walk home defeated, faint hoof beats can be heard. They look up to notice this mare. Adorned with an icy blue harness and a grand sleigh behind her, the kids are standing in amazement. But without hesitation, they jump on the sleigh and the mare soon gallops around and then into the sky. The kids are beyond happy as they fly into the clouds. They are then returned home safe and sound. As they get off one child asks the mare, "That was so fun! Will we see you tomorrow?" The mare whinnied with excitement and reared. The child had the biggest smile on their face.

"I've always had an affinity for horses for as long as I can remember and naturally wanted to draw them. And I still do to this day. I love using both digital and traditional mediums but my favorite being pencil with watercolor. I've even delved into customizing my model horses and even create sculptures. I still need some practice of sculpting. But I've discovered the Trail of Painted Ponies models earlier this year. And this has completely inspired me to continue sculpting and painting my own decorative horses and other animals and hopefully make a business out of it. I'm currently starting college for Visual Communications of Arts."

HONORABLE MENTION
Noel by Boston Campbell

Noel is known as Christmas and when I think of that word I imaging bells, the Nativity and night. This design I decided to call Noel or The First Noel. I came up with this because I began working with a saddlebred mare named Noel. My boss/employer rescued her around Christmas from a killpen and came up with the idea Noel since it means Christmas. So for this design I went with the First Noel or the First Christmas. This drawing is the Nativity scene when Jesus was born. The body of the horse starting from black, navy, then fading to a light blue at the head. The other side is the Angel praying in the distance behind the Nativity. I also imagine bells when it come to Noel so I accented it with a pink collar and halter with bells. Then a gray mane to symbolize night sky clouds.

"I draw as a hobby. I mostly draw animals since I'm with them every day." - Boston Campbell
