The Trail of Painted Ponies offers collectors a choice:

One-of-a-kind, original, hand-painted artworks created exclusively for us by some of the premiere artists in the country; and collectible-sized Painted Pony figurines that are inspired by the original artworks.

When The Trail of Painted Ponies was launched in 2001 as a public art project based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, select artists were invited to transform life-size fiberglass horse forms into original works of art. The uniqueness and quality of the spectacular results were recognized by museums, business and private art enthusiasts, who added life-size Painted Ponies to their collections.

Today, we continue to create stunningly original works of art by some of the best artists in the country, but we invite them to work their magic on Masterworks - two-foot tall, elegant, marble-cast, horse forms created exclusively for The Trail of Painted Ponies by a nationally acclaimed sculptor. Trail of Painted Pony Masterworks are then displayed on our website gallery, and in prestigious venues around the country. For example, over a dozen Masterworks, in addition to four life-size Painted Ponies, are currently on view at the "Pony Expressionism" exhibition at the International Museum of the Horse in the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. And several can be seen in The Gallery Four Seasons at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

All Masterworks are for sale. Pricing depends on the complexity and sophistication of the design, and what the artist's other artwork generally sells for. Given the fact that Painted Pony Masterworks are one-of-a-kind artworks that come directly from the hand of the artist, many collectors prize them highly and believe they will appreciate significantly in value.
