Artist Chad Brady at work on "Carved in History"

The Trail of Painted Ponies is unique in the collectible world by virtue of its fine arts component. All the designs that are crafted into our popular figurines begin as original artworks - as elegant horse sculptures imaginatively transformed into one-of-a-kind works of art by some of the premiere artists in the country.

Our horse sculptures are works of art unto themselves. All three horses - standing, running, walking - were sculpted exclusively for The Trail of Painted Ponies by the nationally acclaimed Santa Fe sculptor Star Liana York. They are elegant works of art that succeed aesthetically on two levels: as sculptures of a horse they have beauty and integrity; and as a canvas they inspire gifted artists to express themselves. This unique pairing of two artforms has generated "Art on Art" with spectacular results. Across the country, museums, corporations and private art collectors have added original Painted Ponies to their collections. The Trail of Painted Ponies has also been credited with starting a new art movement called "Pony Expressionism."

Each Masterwork stands two-feet tall, and is cast in marble weighing 35 lbs. It is mounted onto a granite-and-walnut base with a plaque and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Most of them are the original inspiration and model for future Painted Ponies figurines.

We invite you to view the slideshows and images below, which illustrate the care and craftsmanship that go into the creation of each Masterwork. If you are interested in enhancing your personal or corporate art collection with a Trail of Painted Ponies Masterwork, please contact:

Signs of the Times

Though "The Mother Road" is no more, and many signs and landmarks have disappeared, the signs depicted here are recreated as they were in their heyday - bright and welcoming and eye-catching.
