"On the design of my horse, I chose the stylistic design concepts of the Northwest Native cultures, which are very distinct, stylistic, striking and bold. The design is based on the Haida and Tlingit stylized animal totems. As an artist, I can only humbly attempt to capture a glimpse of the artistic imagery of these cultures. This pony is covered with various animal totems such as the eagle, whale, salmon, bear and raven. The colors are flat and bold in the traditional black, red, blue-green, as well as white and yellow, which were added for contrast and emphasis.”
