Welcome to The Trail of Painted Ponies
The Trail of Painted Ponies welcomes design submissions from artists everywhere. If you are not familiar with the Painted Ponies that have been previously crafted into figurines, please go to our website – www.trailofpaintedponies.com. There you can find images of Painted Ponies figurines, Custom Painted Ponies created by artists from one of our kit Ponies , and an Image Gallery where anyone can post an image of Ponies they have created. There are no entry fees. Submit as many designs as you like.
Painted Ponies Forms
Working with nationally acclaimed sculptors, four horse forms have been created exclusively for The Trail: a standing horse, walking horse, running horse and rearing horse. To download and print an outline of each of these horse forms click each link below.
Paint Your Own Pony Artist's Sets
We have also created two Paint Your Own Pony Artist's Sets for artists to paint: one of a running horse, the other of a rearing horse. The resin form inside each set is the same size as the figurines. To order one of these forms to paint, Click Here.

Financial and Promotional Benefits
Benefits and Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- If your design is selected to become a Painted Pony figurine, you will receive a $500 design fee for reproduction rights, plus an additional $1,000 if your Painted Pony is selected for inclusion in the Official Autographed Edition.
- You will retain the right to sell the original Pony if you are working from a kit Pony, and if your design is crafted as a figurine you will receive 10 complimentary copies of your Pony, plus the right to purchase as many additional Ponies you want at wholesale that you may embellish and sell directly to collectors.
- You will also be entitled to purchase any Trail of Painted Ponies merchandise at wholesale.
- Your name will be featured in the Artist’s Directory on The Trail of Painted Ponies website, accompanied by a link to your website.
- You will receive national and internal exposure through The Trail of Painted Ponies books and e-newsletters, plus you may receive invitations to participate in special exhibitions, events, workshops and artist signings.

Important Information
- We assume all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein. We are not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant.
- We receive multiple Painted Pony submissions from different artists on the same theme. Each artist must recognize that there may be times when multiple artists submit designs that are similar to other artist submissions. The Trail of Painted Ponies reserves the right to select the design that best represents the proposed concept.
- In return for accepting the “financial and promotional package,” winners will agree to release to The Trail of Painted Ponies the reproduction rights to their winning entry.
- Please note: Any and all designs submitted to The Trail of Painted Ponies are on the copyrighted and registered horse form and these submissions are property of The Trail of Painted Ponies. We regret that we cannot return any submissions. Happy Trails!
